Become a Retail Partner – ARCtick Retail Engagement Program
The Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) invites retailers to participate in the ARCtick Retail Engagement Program. This industry collaboration is designed to raise consumer awareness about the legal obligation to use a licensed technician when purchasing or replacing air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
Licenced technicians have skills to safely handle environmentally harmful, and in some cases hazardous, refrigerant gases. Only technicians holding an ARCtick Refrigeration Handling Licence are legally permitted to install, uninstall and service equipment containing Ozone Depleting Substances and Synthetic Greenhouse Gases.
This program is open to all retailers who sell or promote air conditioning products and services. By joining, your store will help educate consumers about the importance of using licensed refrigeration and air conditioning technicians. You will also gain access to promotional resources and benefit from visibility across the ARC’s high-traffic platforms.

- Be part of a national campaign endorsed by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).
What’s Involved?
- Complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) form to register your interest.
- Hear back within 5 business days. The ARC will contact you to discuss next steps.
- Get tailored support. Participating retailers will receive tailored communications and promotional materials to boost both in-store and online engagement. As part of the program, retailers are expected to:
- Educate staff on the legal requirement that only ARCtick-licensed technicians can install, uninstall and service air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
- Display ARCtick promotional materials in-store and online to raise awareness among consumers about choosing licensed professionals for installation.
- Communicate licensing requirements to customers purchasing or replacing air conditioning or refrigeration units, reinforcing the importance of compliance and environmental safety.
- Integrate campaign messaging into existing marketing channels via catalogues, newsletters, and/or social media platforms.
